Tidlos Home Checklist — Terms of Use

These terms cover the Tidlos Home Checklist app for ChatGPT (the "App"), made by Tidlos Remodeling LLC ("Tidlos," "we," "us"). By using the App, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. What the App is
The App is a free seasonal home maintenance checklist for houses in Minneapolis and nearby suburbs. It gives general tips, such as what to do in the fall before freeze-up or how to get ready for heavy snow. It can also tell you about Home on Autopilot, our optional recurring home care service, and give you a link to ask for a home profile visit.
The App is free. It does not sell anything, quote prices, take payment, or book work. Asking for a visit through the link does not create a contract. Any work we do for you is covered by a separate written agreement.
2. General information, not professional advice
The checklist is general information. It is not a home inspection, a diagnosis of any problem with your home, or advice from a licensed electrician, plumber, gas fitter, roofer, or engineer. Every house is different, and the App can't see yours. Use your own judgment, follow manufacturer instructions and local codes, and hire a licensed pro when a job calls for one.
The App is not an emergency service. If you smell gas, leave the house right away and call 911 or your gas company from outside. If water is coming into the house, you've lost heat in freezing weather, or you see sparking or burning wiring, call 911 or a licensed pro right away. Don't wait on a checklist.
3. Do-it-yourself safety
Some checklist items are jobs people often do themselves. Doing them is your choice and your responsibility. Please be careful:
- Roofs and ladders. Falls cause serious injuries. Don't go on a roof that is wet, icy, snowy, or steep. Use a sturdy ladder on firm, level ground, keep three points of contact, and have someone with you. Stay away from power lines.
- Electrical. Turn off the power at the breaker before touching any wiring or fixture, and test that it's off. Leave panels, new circuits, and anything you're unsure of to a licensed electrician.
- Gas and fuel-burning equipment. Don't take apart or adjust gas lines, gas valves, furnaces, water heaters, or fireplaces yourself. Have a licensed pro service them. Keep working carbon monoxide and smoke alarms on every level of your home.
- Older homes. Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint. Homes may also have asbestos. Don't sand, scrape, or cut these materials without the right precautions or a certified pro.
- Snow, cold, and power tools. Shoveling and snow blowing are hard work in the cold. Take breaks. Never clear a jammed snow blower with your hands. Follow all tool safety instructions.
If a task seems beyond your skills, tools, or comfort, stop and call a pro.
4. No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep the checklist accurate and useful, but we don't promise that it is complete, error-free, right for your home, or always available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tidlos Remodeling LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any injury, property damage, or loss that comes from using the App or acting on its checklist. This includes doing any task yourself. Because the App is free, our total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is nothing, unless the law requires otherwise. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
6. Fair use
Please use the App for its purpose. Don't try to overload, hack, or disrupt it, or use it to break the law. We may limit or stop access to protect the service.
7. ChatGPT and other services
You use the App inside ChatGPT, which is run by OpenAI under its own terms. Links in the App may open our website or our online request form, which is run by Jobber. Those sites have their own terms and policies.
8. Our content
The checklist text, the Tidlos name, and the logo belong to Tidlos Remodeling LLC. You may use the checklist for your own home. Please don't copy it to sell or republish it.
9. Privacy

10. Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the effective date at the top. Using the App after a change means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
